SU Elections 2025 Stats

The 2025 SU Elections saw us only have a Presidential Election with some changes being made to the SU setup for next year. We had 3 candidates campaign and received an impressive 2,332 votes.

SU President Election 2025 Stats

  • 3 Candidates ran in this election - Vwaire Ikwe, Shaik Qasim and Zayan Khan
  • There were 2,332 votes cast in the election
  • It took 3 rounds to find a winner
  • Vwaire Ikwe received 879 1st preference votes
  • Shaik Qasim received 760 1st preference votes
  • Zayan Khan received 567 1st preference votes
  • R.O.N. received 126 1st preference votes
  • 297 votes were then transferred after R.O.N. and Zayan Khan were eliminated after rounds 1 and 2
  • In round 3, Vwaire Ikwe received 52% of the total vote, with 1,016 votes to Shaik Qasim’s 920

Special Recognition

  • Keighley College:
    • Double the number of voters from last year and a 22.9% voter turnout!
  • Enfield & Beeston:
    • Along with Keighley, only campuses to increase numbers of voters from last year! 
  • Quarry Hill:
    • Most voters with 603!
  • North Street:
    • 46.4% voter turnout that was the highest this year!
  • The Vine:
    • 10.9% voter turnout in their 1st year of voting in the SU Elections!
