Welcome to Your New Academic Year!

To everyone who voted, shared a word, or supported me—thank you. I do not take your support lightly.

I ran for Students’ Union President because I believe college should not just be a place you show up to—it should feel like your second home. That is why the SU team and I have been out across campuses, meeting people face-to-face. We are not here to preach or make empty announcements; we are here to listen to what matters to you.

Whether you are studying at Leeds City College, Keighley College, Harrogate College, University Centre Leeds, or Leeds Sixth Form College—a huge welcome to you all.

A Note to New Students

Stepping onto campus for the first time can be intimidating. If you are worried about making connections or second-guessing your choice, take a breath—I have walked that same path. But I promise it gets easier. You belong here, and you are not doing this alone.

What We are Focusing on This Year:

Here is what you can expect from your Students' Union team over the coming months:

Showing Up Everywhere: We are committed to being visible on every single campus, not just the central ones.

Support for All: We are breaking down barriers, so every student gets access to resources, quiet or vocal.

Community First: Life as a student has its stresses; our job is to keep the journey positive, human, and fun.

Let Us Make It Count

Whatever brought you through our doors—whether it is a fresh start, a second chance, or a step toward the career you really want—my goal is to help you leave this year proud of how far you have come. That is genuinely what drives me every day.

This is your union, your college, and your year. Let us make it one to remember.

All the best,

Masoud Aminizadeh

Students' Union President (2026 / 2027)
