Make Your Mark Campaign

Over 3,100 Students Had Their Say!

As part of UK Parliament Week, students across the Education Group took part in Make Your Mark, a powerful consultation designed to put student voice at the heart of decision-making. With over 3,100 students voting, this initiative was a fantastic opportunity for learners to engage in democracy and influence the issues that matter most to them.

Championing the British Value of Democracy

Hosted by the Student Life Enrichment Team, Make Your Mark encouraged students to actively participate in shaping the future of their college experience. By casting their votes, learners practiced the British Value of democracy, ensuring that their voices contribute to real change.

So what happened?

These results were discussed at the Campus Council Meetings and presented at Student Parliament. To find out more about the most voted for issue on their campus, MSPs conducted listening campaigns to understand the root cause of the issue. MSPs presented their findings to the relevant senior staff and agreed actions to take forward.

For the 24/25 academic year, the top 3 most voted for issues were:

  1. Access to Mental Health Support

  2. More opportunities for work experience, volunteering, jobs

  3. Crime and Safety
