Social Action

Help people across Leeds and the College community

Take part in social action across the College and the City. We give students the opportunity to not only take part in social action but to also plan their own projects!

Social action challenges you to push yourself out of your comfort zone, become more aware of your own strengths and brings you closer to your community.  It can also boost your Further and Higher Education prospects whilst increasing your well-being.

We offer one off social action opportunities to projects that can last up to 6 weeks with personal development workshops and project delivery. There really is an option to suit every student.

How do you put into words the positive effects of social action?

Here are some examples of our social action projects and the partners we supported

Walk&Talk with picnic at Bolton Abbey for service users of The Migrant Action Project

Our LGBTQ+ society organised social events with SAGE for older LGBTQ+ people

Table Tennis sessions in an care home in Burmantofts

Football tournament for young service users of Touchstone in Woodhouse and Hyde Park

Ballroom dance sessions in a Community Centre in Wortley

"Adopt The Canal" Canal and River clean up

We're proud to have created partnerships for our Social Action Projects to take place with these National and Local organisations
